WC welcomes 940 new police officers to intensify festive season crime fighting campaign

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape has welcomed 940 new police officers as the police service intensifies its festive season crime-fighting campaign.
The new constables are part of 2,700 new police recruits who recently graduated from different police colleges nationwide.
Western Cape's Police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile says the new men and women in blue will bolster their crime-fighting efforts.

Patekile says the new police officers have already been deployed to identified hotspot areas in Cape Town.
"The problematic stations are getting the bigger slice of deployment, not forgetting the areas where people are enjoying themselves. Mostly the beaches and the malls."
