CAPE TOWN - The parents of two learners who were victims of a shooting in Elsies River say the incident has broken them.
Jahmiel van Reenen, a grade 8 learner at Ravensmead High School, was shot and killed in front of his home yesterday.
His school friends, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were also shot and wounded during the attack.
It's alleged that two gunmen randomly fired shots at them, and fled into the grounds of St Andrews Secondary School, as learners were entering the school gates.
This caused a great deal of panic.

Van Reenen's father, Alrich Petrus, has described his son as a quiet boy who loved cars.

Zolile Gabuza, who is the father of a 15-year-old girl who was wounded in the shooting, seeks answers to why their children were targeted.
"No one knows what the motive is. But why are you shooting children who did nothing to you? I'm very angry my brother, I don't know what to tell you."
Police are hunting the gunmen linked to the shooting.
