Tshwane mayor fires Corporate Services MMC following Madlanga Commission findings

Tshwane MMC for Corporate and shared services, Kholofelo Morodi, has officially been fired from the city’s mayoral committee.

Morodi was recently suspended as an MMC after she was implicated at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry for alleged attempts to manipulate city tenders.She was issued a suspension last week and asked to submit written representations on why she shouldn’t be fired.

Mayor Nasiphi Moya has confirmed receiving the representations, but added that she’s not satisfied.

Mayoral spokesperson Samkelo Mgobozi said, "Based on this assessment, I am not satisfied that the concerns raised have been adequately addressed. The material before me reflects a pattern of engagement and conduct over an extended period, including an inappropriate relationship between Cllr Morodi and Sergeant Nkosi, which raises serious concerns regarding the handling of information and adherence to the standards expected of members of the executive."
