JOHANNESBURG - “We are going to the other side this year; we are going to get to the other side. We are going to get the victory. Somebody say ‘amen’.”
These are the words of the founder of Rhema Bible Church Ray McCauley when he delivered a sermon 12 years ago.
Tributes continue to pour in for the religious leader who died on Tuesday night at the age of 75.
The McCauley family confirmed the passing of the popular Evengelist-style preacher in a statement on Tuesday adding he passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
The South African Council of Churches (SACC) has now also joined the faith community in mourning who they’ve described as a devout leader and servant.
SACC acting general secretary Reverand Mzwandile Molo says McCauley’s passing is a great loss.
“The loss of such a foundational stone is deeply felt. It is our prayer that as we all feel the loss of this magnificent leader, we also offer thanks for his ministry of service to the glory of God.”
