Joshlin Smith disappearance case: NPA hopeful new evidence found will lead to successful trial

CAPE TOWN - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said it is hopeful new evidence found in the case related to the disappearance of six-year-old Joshlin Smith will lead to a successful trial in Western Cape.
Joshlin has been missing for seven months after disappearing from her Saldanha Bay home in February.

The little girl's mother, Kelly Smith, and three co-accused have been charged with kidnapping and human trafficking in connection with her disappearance.
Smith and her co-accused appeared in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Monday, when the matter was postponed to 21 October.
NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said investigators need more time to build a strong case against the accused after new evidence recently emerged.
"We will be coming back on the 21st, hoping that we will be able between now and then to come up with something on the new evidence."
Ntabazalila refused to divulge any details about the evidence and how it links to the case, saying the investigation is at a sensitive stage.
