CAPE TOWN - The re-emergence of allegations that Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leaders were complicit in the looting of the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank is once again being used for easy point scoring for their political opponents in Parliament.

During budget vote debates in Parliament this week, Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber was first to tell the party to declare the funding it received from the bank when the EFF suggested wealthy families and businesspeople who fund political parties explain their motives to Parliament.

On Tuesday, it was the turn of new Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen to hit back when the EFF called him a right-winger and said under his leadership black emerging farmers would suffer.

While some were looting VBS Bank, I was busy using our resources in court to fight for Mr David Regatse to get the land that he was due and to bring justice to that particular issue."
