JOHANNESBURG - Former Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) MPs Patrick Sindane and Kenny Motsamai have officially joined the Patriotic Alliance (PA).
They were unveiled by PA deputy leader Kenny Kunene during a media briefing in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The two were excluded from the EFF’s candidate list for Parliament after representing the red berets in the National Assembly following the 2019 polls.
The exodus of senior leaders from the EFF continues to haunt the party, with its former national organiser, Patrick Sindane, and former MP, Kenny Motsamai, being the latest to call it quits.
They claim they were unhappy with the EFF’s position on illegal immigrants, expressing confidence the Patriotic Alliance would tighten the country’s borders.
Motsamai, who was also once a member of the PAC, has dismissed claims suggesting he left the EFF because he was not included on the candidate list.
"We don’t want people to bring their own people from outside and come be slaves, those people without documentation."
Earlier this year, Julius Malema’s close ally and former EFF Limpopo chairperson, Jossey Buthane, also resigned from the party.
