Deputy President Paul Mashatile denied meeting with controversial businessman Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala.
This followed the testimony of Sergeant Fannie Nkosi at the Madlanga Commission on Monday.
Nkosi testified that Matlala wanted to get his credit card back from him, as he was going to be meeting with the deputy president.
However, in a statement released on Monday afternoon, Mashatile denied any link to Matlala, saying he was out of the country at the time he allegedly met him.
“Deputy President Mashatile categorically rejects Sergeant Nkosi's claims and is prepared to cooperate with the Madlanga Commission fully should the Commission require any clarity or assistance from him,” said Mashatile's spokesperson, Keith Khoza.
