Man shot and killed in suspected hijacking in Durban

DURBAN - One person has been shot and killed in a suspected hijacking incident in Durban on Wednesday morning.
Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics said the victim, believed to be in his 30s sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.
ALS spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson: “Unfortunately the man sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased at the scene.”
Jamieson said the incident was now a police matter
“SAPS [South African Police Service] were in attendance and will be investigating the shooting further.”
