JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Fikile Mbalula says opposition parties are attempting to use the courts to settle political scores.
Mbalula was on Thursday reacting to the Democratic Alliance’s (DA’s) failed application to have the ANC's cadre deployment policy declared unconstitutional.
On Wednesday, the Pretoria High Court ruled that the official opposition failed to prove that the ANC's deployment committee unlawfully interfered in government appointments.

Mbalula defended his organisation's deployment strategy, saying cadre deployment is a common practice all over the world.
“There has also been a concerted effort by the anti-transformation forces to use the courts in their fight to slow down, stop or reverse the transformation agenda by trying to impose a conservative interpretation of the Constitution and law of the republic.”
