Wednesday brings moderate temperatures to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, with varying cloud cover and a risk of scattered thunderstorms over parts of Gauteng, according to AccuWeather.
In Cape Town, the day is expected to reach a high of 25°C. The morning will see sun and areas of high cloud, becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Winds will be south-south-westerly at 13 km/h, with gusts up to 30 km/h.
By nightfall, temperatures in Cape Town will drop to 15°C under mainly clear skies. Winds will shift to easterly at 13 km/h, with gusts reaching 32 km/h.
Johannesburg will also see a high of 25°C, but conditions are expected to be mostly cloudy, with thunderstorms in spots. There is a 55% chance of precipitation, with around 2.1 mm of rain forecast. Winds will be northerly at 11 km/h, with gusts up to 24 km/h.
Johannesburg’s overnight low will be 15°C. Partly cloudy conditions are expected, with a 25% chance of rain and a slight 6% risk of thunderstorms. Winds will ease to north-north-easterly at 9 km/h.
In Pretoria, temperatures will climb slightly higher to 27°C. The day will start with low clouds, with some sunshine possible later. There is a 25% chance of precipitation and a 6% chance of thunderstorms. Winds will be northerly at 11 km/h, with gusts up to 24 km/h.
Pretoria’s night-time temperature is forecast to dip to 17°C, with partly to mostly cloudy skies. The probability of precipitation stands at 25%, with light north-easterly winds at 9 km/h.
