The City of Tshwane’s chief financial officer (CFO), Gareth Mnisi, has been placed on precautionary suspension.
A special in-committee council meeting was held on Wednesday, where City of Tshwane councillors voted on a report recommending his suspension.

While the meeting was behind closed doors, several councillors from different political parties have confirmed to EWN that the council voted unanimously to adopt the report.
His suspension follows damning allegations at the Madlanga Commission that he used his position to rig the awarding of tenders at the municipality and direct them to his preferred bidders.
Mnisi is suspended for a period of three months on full pay.
