National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola has promised to continue cracking down on testimony from the Madlanga Commission.
Masemola made his first appearance in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court as an accused.
He’s been charged for contravening the Public Finance Management Act in the irregular awarding of the multi-million rand Medicare24 tender.
Masemola will join Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala and 12 police officers in the dock, all accused of fraud and corruption.
Speaking to journalists after his appearance, Masemola responded to questions about whether his arrest was a direct result of the arrests being made by the so-called Madlanga task team.
