The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a forecast of rain for Gauteng this week, as some parts are already experiencing showers.
Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said there's a likelihood of damage to infrastructure, property and cars.
“In Gauteng, we are still expecting a cloudy day into the afternoon, cool temperatures into the afternoon with scattered showers and rain still possible in the central and southern part of the province.”
Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi urges residents to be cautious during this time.
“Our residents in our low-lying areas to continue to exercise caution, avoid crossing river streams and monitor young kids from going to river streams.”
