The Free State has recorded 35 Easter babies since midnight, with a notable drop in teenage mothers.

The provincial Health Department said one 18-year-old gave birth at Nketoana Hospital.

Of the newborns, 20 are boys and 15 are girls.

Health MEC Monyatso Mahlatsi said that the decline in teenage pregnancies reflects the impact of sustained public outreach, involving health teams, educators and community leaders.
