Cape Town’s gang violence crisis is deepening, with fresh mass shootings in Khayelitsha leaving at least three people dead and several others wounded in just 24 hours.
The latest attacks bring the metro’s murder toll to more than 30 this month.
This, as communities continue to wait for the possible deployment of soldiers to crime hotspots next week.
In Site C, two young men in their 20s were gunned down at the Taiwan informal settlement on Tuesday evening.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said, "The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation."
In a separate incident in Kuyasa on Monday, one person was killed and two were wounded when gunmen opened fire inside a spaza shop.
"Police members were called to the crime scene, where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies. The 19-year-old victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victims were transported to a medical facility for treatment," added Twigg.
