Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on actor Robert De Niro and comedian Rosie O’Donnell following his State of the Union address, using his Truth Social platform to criticise his political opponents and celebrity critics.

The comments came after Trump berated Democrats for not standing or applauding his policies during the nearly two-hour address.

Trump brands De Niro ‘deranged’ and ‘low IQ’

In a post on Truth Social, Trump referred to ‘Trump deranged Robert De Niro’, describing him as ‘another sick and demented person who I believe has an extremely low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he’s doing or saying’.

Trump has frequently accused critics of being obsessed with him, and has repeatedly used the phrase ‘Trump deranged’ when referring to opponents.

Trump also claimed he watched De Niro ‘break down in tears’ and suggested he may be ‘even sicker than crazy Rosie O’Donnell’.

Rosie O’Donnell also targeted

The US president also turned his attention to comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who he said was ‘right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States’.

Both De Niro and O’Donnell have previously expressed views that are politically opposed to Trump.

Remarks follow the lengthy State of the Union

The social media post followed Trump’s State of the Union address, which ran for nearly two hours.

During the speech, Trump criticised Democrats for failing to stand or applaud his policies, arguing that they should show support.

The remarks have drawn attention not only for their content but also for the tone used by the president in publicly attacking high-profile critics on his own social media platform.
