A case of a prosecutor accused of corruption has been postponed in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria.

On Wednesday, Thandwa Moseneke made a brief appearance before the court.

This, after her arrest in 2025 for allegedly accepting a R1,000 bribe in exchange for not enrolling a theft matter on the court roll.

The matter dates back to 2021; however, Moseneke was only arrested in September 2025.

In 2021, a man was accused by his employer of stealing medicine and was subsequently arrested at the Wierdabrug police station.

It emerged that the accused bribed the investigating officer on the matter with R5,000 for his release.

The investigating officer then paid the prosecutor, Moseneke, R1,000 to not enrol the matter in the courts.

After the release of the accused, his employer lodged a complaint with the management of the investigating officer because the matter had not gone to court.

The investigation revealed that the officer had accepted the bribe and was subsequently dismissed and later formally charged by the court with a suspended sentence of five years.

This is while the prosecutor was investigated for her role for four years until her arrest in 2025.

She was released on bail in 2025, and on Wednesday, the court made a further postponement on the matter for more investigations to be conducted.
