The former MK Party chief whip announced on Monday that she would be resigning from the official opposition by the end of February.
Her departure is one more case in a long list of chops and changes from MK Party MPs in the National Assembly.

While she has not announced her next step, EWN understands Makhubele will be stepping back from politics altogether to focus on other business interests.
It has been a turbulent three years for Makhubele in the political scene, where she’s been with three different parties.
In November 2023, COPE terminated her membership, which subsequently meant she lost her job as Johannesburg council speaker.
She went on to form her own political party, the South African Rainbow Alliance.
However, the party failed to get a single seat in the 2024 general elections, leading Makhubele to join the MK Party the following year.
She was quickly made an MP for the MK Party and then promoted to its chief whip in Parliament.
However, she would only hold on to that position for about eight months before a fallout with the MK Party leader’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, began the process of her exit from the party and eventually politics.
