Suspended Deputy National Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya has been questioned by the Madlanga commission for providing conflicting dates about when he first met alleged crime kingpin, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.

Sibiya is back before the Madlanga Commission on Monday to continue his testimony for a fourth day.

He again faced questions about his relationship with Matlala, his purchase of several impalas, and the Medicare24 police tender that was awarded to Matlala.

Sibiya was questioned by the evidence leader, Adila Hassim, about why he provided different dates to Parliament's ad committee and the commission about when he first met Matlala.

"My question is, why the difference in the dates? In one sworn statement, you say you met Matlala in February, and in the other, you say January. I’m trying to understand what changed."

But Sibiya insists the tender had been awarded when he met Matlala and they met in his office, where he was accompanied by his lawyer.

"I could have said February. Maybe at that point in time, I didn’t have it in front of me, but the first time I met Matala was when he came to the office."

His evidence continues and will also look into conversations between hm and witness F.
