Safety blitz: Multiple school buses discontinued after failing inspections in Ekurhuleni

Some scholar transport vehicles contracted by the Gauteng Education Department have been discontinued in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.
The affected vehicles were found to have more than three defects, rendering them unroadworthy.
During inspections by department officials and national traffic police discovered that some vehicles, both private and those from the Education Department, are non-compliant.
Officials conducted inspections at the Ntuthuko and Zibuko primary schools and the Lethukuthula and Fumana secondary schools on Monday.

"There is also an infringement notice where there are three defects found on the vehicles, there is also violations that were served through our efos notices but the violations are ranging from overloading and driving vehicles that shouldn’t be on our roads."
