A fake AI-generated photo of Orlando West High School in Soweto on fire - has drawn a stern warning from emergency management services.

Kagiso Phasha from Joburg EMS says anyone who pulls this kind of prank and gets caught will face the full might of the law.

He says they noted the circulation of the photo on Sunday and were called by a local radio station to verify the fire.

"After that, we immediately did our investigation, we went to the school to make sure it was not on fire."
