Milnerton human trafficking suspect to make first appearance in court on Monday

A suspected human trafficker is set to make his first court appearance on Monday.

The 23-year-old suspect, who was initially arrested on an immigration charge, was identified following a Hawks’ search and seizure operation in Milnerton last week.

The operation also led to the rescue of a human trafficking victim.

Western Cape Hawk's spokesperson Zinzi Hani said the suspect will face the full might of the law for both charges.

"One victim was identified and thereafter the alleged trafficker was also identified and was instantly interviewed. During the interview it was discovered that he is illegally in the country," said Hani
