The Afrika Mayibuye Movement (Mayibuye) has unveiled its founding document, which it says seeks to complete the country's liberation of oppressed people.

Titled the 'Restoration Manifesto', Mayibuye's founding document outlines the party's political and ideological slant. In it, the party sets out opposition to undocumented immigration into South Africa and calls for a Commission of Inquiry into Black Poverty.

Mayibuye's Secretary General, Lazola Ndamase, says the manifesto addresses the state of the country and how it is not what was envisaged when apartheid ended.

"It is seeking to restore that which is incomplete and has fallen into the hands of thugs, ideologically weak and politically misguided and organisationally disorganised formations."

Mayibuye is due to hold its first national convention this week, from Friday to Sunday.

During the convention, the party's delegates are expected to deliberate and adopt a number of policy positions. Mayibuye says it expects at least 2,000 delegates from across the country to attend its national convention.
