Convicted husband killer Najwa Petersen's latest bid to be released on parole has been dealt a blow.
EWN has been reliably informed that the Correctional Supervision and Parole Review Board has denied her application for parole.
This is the second time in just over a year she has applied to be released. In September last year, her first attempt was also denied.
Najwa Petersen is eligible for parole after serving 16 of her 28-year prison sentence for orchestrating her husband, music and theatre legend Taliep Petersen's, murder.
Taliep Petersen was shot dead in his Athlone home in December 2006.
His brother, Igsaan Petersen, told Eyewitness News that while the family was relieved by Thursday's decision, it will not bring back their brother.
"A lot of people are talking about forgive and forget. We will never be able to see my brother or hear his voice again. But at the end of the day, we are also human beings, but if you can't give us the truth, then what do you expect from us?"
