Construction has officially begun on the R2 billion Granger Bay mixed-use development, a joint venture between Devmark Property Group and the Feenstra Group, adjacent to Cape Town’s DHL Stadium in Green Point.

The development will include a five-star international hotel, 200 luxury apartments, 14,000 square metres of premium office space, and 3,000 square metres of convenience retail, designed to complement rather than compete with the nearby V&A Waterfront.

Hein Ehlers, founder and Executive Chairperson of Devmark Property Group, says the Mother City continues to prove itself as a top investment destination.

"It's a city that is attractive for investing, and there's a lot of infrastructure spending that has happened, and we have a lot of confidence currently, and in the future of Cape Town as an investment destination."

Ehlers confirms that construction tenders close in mid-December, with full completion expected by the final quarter of 2027.

He adds that the project will leverage the 1.2 million annual visitors to the DHL Stadium, bringing new life to one of the city's last undeveloped urban pockets.
