The case of alleged crime boss Katiso "KT" Molefe has been transferred to the High Court for trial.

Molefe and his three co-accused made a brief appearance in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on charges including murder.

Molefe has been linked to several hits on individuals, including popular musicians DJ Somebody, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka, and Hector Buthelezi, who was known as DJ Vintos.

Molefe is out on R500,000 bail and was not wearing leg irons during his court appearance on Wednesday.

The sitting was for the State to confirm whether Molefe’s case was ready to be transferred to the High Court.

His docket of charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms, had been centralised ahead of the trial.

The matter was set down for trial in February in the High Court, where Molefe and his alleged hitmen, Michael Pule Tau, Tiego Mabusela, and Musa Kekana are expected to appear.
