As police continue their probe into the alleged attempted murder of controversial businessman, Brown Mogotsi, questions remain over the ownership of the vehicle Mogotsi was driving.
On Monday evening, Mogotsi was allegedly attacked by gun-weilding perpetrators, who opened fire on the vehicle the North West businessman was driving in at the time.
The incident allegedly took place along the N3 highway near Vosloorus, when occupants in a white bakkie allegedly fired several shots at the Chevrolet sedan Mogotsi was driving in.

Mogotsi refused to initially open a case, as he was wanted by police in connection with the handover of several digital devices in respect of an ongoing investigation.
On Wednesday, Mogotsi and his attorneys met with police to make a statement and handover his devices.
The maroon Chevrolet Aveo that Mogotsi was travelling in when he was allegedly confronted and shot at by gunmen remains a key focal point of police’s investigation into the case.
According to the National Administration Traffic Information System, otherwise known as NATIS, the vehicle is registered to a car dealership in Boksburg, Liger Motors.
Owner of the dealership, Muhammed Ebrahim, told EWN that the second-hand vehicle was purchased by a company from his dealership in February.
Ebrahim would not provide details of the company that purchased the vehicle, citing the POPI Act.
Ebrahim said that he attempted file a NATIS change of ownership this week but it was blocked by SAPS as they continue with their investigation.
According to Ebrahim, the person who purchased the vehicle claimed they would register it with NATIS, something that is not common practice when purchasing a vehicle from a car dealership.
Police have warned that should it be found that Mogotsi staged the incident, he would be charged with defeating the ends of justice.
