African National Congress (ANC) member of Parliament, Malusi Gigaba, said that IDAC’s ongoing investigation against him was not related to procurement-related corruption but rather claims that he received undeserved benefits.
Gigaba said that IDAC had not presented any evidence to justify a probe into possible misconduct during tenure as public enterprise minister between 2010 and 2014.
IDAC spokesperson Henry Mamothame confirmed that officials had met with Gigaba but refused to provide further details.
"IDAC will not be commenting any further on the matter," said Mammothame.
Gigaba maintains that he’s done nothing wrong.
The Zondo Commission, which probed allegations of state capture, found that Gigaba was grossly negligent and enabled the Gupta family to infiltrate state-owned entities.
