The Mighty Men’s Conference gets underway at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday.
An estimated 30,000 men are expected to gather to discuss ways to curb gang violence plaguing Cape Town communities.
Author and former inmate turned Pastor, Ivor Swarts, will also be in attendance.
He stresses the necessity for men to take responsibility and step up.
“To get 30,000 men together on the Cape Flats is already a miracle because we know that men, they have some sort of resistance towards opening up to say enough is enough, more must be done,” Swarts said. “We as men have to step up; we have to get our act together.”
