The presiding magistrate in EFF leader Julius Malema’s firearms discharge case is reviewing the evidence presented by witnesses during the trial.
Magistrate Twanet Olivier is delivering judgment in the matter, in which Malema faces charges of violating the Firearms Control Act, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Olivier said proceedings may not conclude on Monday.
“I hope that we do not run out of court time, I sincerely do. There was a request that we should work until late tonight. That part of working late tonight, I cannot make that decision. That part will have to be taken up by whoever is present in court and can deal with that protocol,” Olivier said.
