Woman killed, two seriously hurt in head-on collision in Pinetown

A head-on collision in Pinetown, west of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on Sunday morning has resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries.

ALS Paramedics responded to multiple emergency calls reporting a serious crash on Underwood Road, near Hans Dettman Road.

According to paramedics, a female driver, believed to be in her forties, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Two occupants from the second vehicle suffered serious injuries.

ALS spokesperson Garrith Jameson said the pair were stabilised before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

"At this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown; however, SAPS who were in attendance will be investigating further."
