Over 40k SASSA beneficiaries have completed biometric enrolment

More than 42,000 social grant beneficiaries have completed their biometric enrolment as required by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).
SASSA has been implementing security measures on its systems to safeguard it from fraudulent applications.
The grant verification rollout process began at the beginning of September.
In a statement, SASSA CEO Themba Matlou assured beneficiaries that they will be proactive in dealing with any challenges while they implement this new system.
The agency’s spokesperson Andile Tshona explained: “[The] BBE (beneficiary biometrics enrollment] massive rollout just over two weeks ago, more than 42,000 clients have been enrolled in 432 SASSA local offices nationally.”
Matlou emphasised that these include new applicants, people undergoing reviews and those coming to SASSA offices to change their personal details.”
