The party lost its uMngeni Local Municipality chief, Nhlalayenza Ndlovu, through political violence in 2023.
DA KZN leader Francious Rodgers said parties must fight to ensure 2026’s polls are without incident.
“We need to be bold; we need to be brave because we no longer have a party that’s supremely dominant in the province and therefore, all role players, particularly in the Government of Provincial Unity, need to play an active role in preventing any potential violence running up to the elections.”
