JOHANNESBURG - City Power is calling on residents affected by power outages in some areas in the west of Johannesburg to be patient as their teams work on restoring the electricity supply.
The utility said it was facing some delays in repairs due to the water protests, which were staged in Coronationville and Westbury on Thursday.
City Power’s spokesperson Isaac Mangena said their technicians were on the ground in efforts to stabilise their networks.
He added that repairs should be complete by Friday.
"I would like to apologise for the inconvenience that is caused by these prolonged emergency power interruptions which affected parts of Westdene. Our teams were on site on Thursday, yesterday to basically work on the plans that were out of service in the area, which involved the replacement of some of the key equipment in the infrastructure."
