The case also highlights a nightclub security war between Booysen and alleged underworld figures Colin Booysen and Nafiz Modack.

South African Police Service (SAPS) sergeant Dominic Majiedt took the stand today as a witness for the state related to two arrests he made in 2017.

At the time, the state alleges Booysen and the now-deceased Mark Lifman paid some of the accused to cause disruptions at certain nightclubs in Cape Town.

Majiedt detailed how he and his partner acted on a call-out about a robbery before arresting one of the accused, Kashief Hanslo, in Newfields.

Hanslo, along with two other suspects, was arrested in possession of a firearm used in a shooting at Coco bar night club in May 2017.

It's the state's case that the incident was related to a disagreement between brothers Colin and Jerome Booysen, resulting in Colin joining their rival, alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack.

The trial continues.
