EC cops open inquest docket into death of man suspected of killing 2 women

LUSIKISIKI - Eastern Cape police say the man wanted in connection with the murders of two women shot and killed in Lusikisiki has been found dead.
It is believed the suspect took his own life hours after committing the crimes on Wednesday.
Police launched a manhunt after two women were killed at Ngobozana village.
Explained police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana: “Preliminary reports suggest he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though police are conducting a thorough investigation. Following the double homicide, the suspect fled the scene using the family’s vehicle, which was later discovered abandoned by police."
She said police are looking into circumstances surrounding his death.
“Lusikisiki SAPS [South African Police Service] have opened an inquest docket to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.”
