JOHANNESBURG - Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has confirmed flight disruptions at OR Tambo International Airport.
ACSA has cited a system failure flagged by its Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS).
The critical systems failure is impacting flight operations, and passengers are advised to contact their airlines directly for flight updates and possible schedule changes.
It further warns passengers to arrive at least two to three hours ahead of check-in time to avoid unexpected interruptions.
ATNS said it is working with relevant stakeholders to manage and minimise the impact on operations.
It was unclear at the time of publication what caused the failure. However, ATNS is assuring travellers that all safety protocols are being followed to ensure the safe management of air traffic.
It said relevant stakeholders are working to restore the affected system.
