Activist organisation the Palestine Solidarity Campaign is calling on South Africans to take what it has labelled the moral high ground as it prepares to stage a march in Cape Town on Saturday.
Several groups and organisations are planning to demonstrate and march to Parliament in Cape Town to hand over a memorandum of demands related to the ongoing war in Gaza.
Among the demands are calls to close the Israeli embassy in Pretoria and for the state to stop working and trading with the Israeli government.
PSC member Usuf Chikte said South Africa should not allow itself to be bullied.
“We are under attack from imperialist forces from the United States of America, from the European Union, they want us to give up our case, our moral standing against the genocide, and we want to tell, as the people of South Africa, to stand firm, to stand resolute.”
