CAPE TOWN - Suspected baby snatcher Sameemah Jacobs allegedly pretended to be three different people in her plot to abduct nine-day-old baby Imaad Sharmar.

Jacobs is charged with kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice for allegedly abducting Imaad from his mother at Middestad Mall in Bellville a month ago.

The kidnapping-accused is due in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday for a bail hearing.

The State and defence are expected to wrap up closing arguments in Jacobs's bail application for the magistrate to make a decision.

Anti-kidnapping unit detective Sergeant Dawid Fortuin last week presented evidence extracted from two cellphones confiscated from Jacobs after her arrest.

Fortuin told the court the evidence shows the names Sameemah, Wasiema, and Chevon Classen were saved as three different cellphone numbers on Jacobs's phones.

All three personas were allegedly used by Jacobs in her plot to orchestrate the kidnapping of baby Imaad.

In her defence, Jacobs's Legal Aid lawyer told the court she suffers from bipolar disorder.

The court is set to decide whether Jacobs will be released on bail on Monday.
