Suspended RAF CEO Letsoalo says he helped save R50 million
Collins Letsoalo said that the savings came from cuts in legal and medical fees, as well as stopping payments to undocumented foreign nationals.

JOHANNESBURG - Suspended Road Accident Fund CEO, Collins Letsoalo, said that he helped the fund save R50 million during his tenure, achieving all key objectives set for him since taking office in 2020.
Letsoalo was speaking at a media briefing in Pretoria on Saturday, alongside suspended chief investment officer, Sefotle Modiba.

He said that the savings came from cuts in legal and medical fees, as well as stopping payments to undocumented foreign nationals.
Letsoalo also claimed that he improved the RAF's success rate from 57% to 85% during his leadership. Despite this, he said that he now found himself accused of wrongdoing, something he believed was at odds with his performance record.
"I have helped South Africa, that's how I see myself. I was deployed in a space and I was asked to solve the problem and that is what we are busy with, solving the problem. Our approach was that this thing is going to take 15 years but I think in the last five years, we have managed to achieve all our objectives."
