Residents living in the City of Tshwane, City of Johannesburg, City of Ekurhuleni and the Madibeng Local Municipality should prepare themselves for water disruptions from 5am on Tuesday (15 July 2025) until 7am on Friday (18 July 2025), due to planned maintenance by Rand Water.
The latest round of maintenance will take place on its O2 pipeline, where previous temporary fixes are being replaced with permanent solutions.
The work forms part of a broader plan that began in late May and is scheduled during the low-demand winter months to minimise disruption.
According to the water utility, the maintenance, aimed at improving capacity and operational efficiency, includes valve replacements, leak repairs, and cleaning at major pumping stations.
Residents are encouraged to monitor Rand Water's official communication channels and social media platforms for updates.
