BARBERTON - The late former Deputy President David Mabuza has been remembered as a disciplined leader who had little patience for lateness.
Members of the African National Congress (ANC) shared some of their most treasured moments with Mabuza at a memorial service at the Phola Village in Mbombela on Thursday.
Mabuza passed away in hospital last week after battling a short illness.
Speaking at the service, ANC Youth League leader in Mpumalanga, Bethuel Zunguza, said Mabuza was deeply committed to expanding access to education.
"I can count this endless list of people who are graduates. He was able to assist young people. No wonder we have so many graduates in the province."
The ANC Women’s League’s Jesta Sidell said that Mabuza was a father to many.
"I want to believe that he did all that he wanted to do when he was still here. He supported the young and old."
