Two more days of Rand Water maintenance to impact Gauteng residents

JOHANNESBURG - Joburg residents are warned to brace for two days without water, while Rand Water conducts planned maintenance work.
Monday marks day one of the bulk water suppliers’ - maintenance project at the Zwartkopjes, Eikenhof and Palmiet systems.
Spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said that the Zwartkopjes system supplying water to several areas in Johannesburg and Tshwane will stop pumping for 58 hours, while maintenance work is conducted.
She added that areas provided water by the Eikenhof and Palmiet systems will experience low supply.
She said that it may take several days for the system to recover.
"Under Palmiet we have the city of Johannesburg, we have Tshwane, the city of Ekurhuleni and Madibeng. Just to emphasize . We've been getting questions from people of Tshwane, Garankuwa and Mabopane, they will be impacted. In Eikenhof its Johannesburg, its Rand West, Mogale City, Rustenburg and mines around North West."
