CAPE TOWN - U-turn Homeless Ministries in Cape Town is calling on the community to help with their emergency support services as extreme weather conditions persist.
The shelter is welcoming any donations, including blankets, non-perishable food, tea, coffee and sugar.
Several suburbs around the Cape Town metropole are experiencing localised flooding and aid from the community is welcomed.
U-turn Homeless Ministries spokesperson, Stephen Underwood, said they would continue these emergency support services until weather conditions eased.
"During this time, we are laying on emergency accommodation for people to spend the night as well so that they are off the cold streets. We're going to make 70 beds available for sleeping from today until Saturday and we are partnering with the local church to assist us to provide us with that emergency accommodation."
