JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC)'s Study Group on Higher Education and Training has welcomed recent changes to the appointment process of Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) board chairpersons.
This follows Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane’s decision to re-open nominations, after withdrawing earlier appointments and issuing a public apology.
The move followed the parliamentary portfolio committee's raised concerns about the transparency and integrity of the process.
The study group said that the minister’s actions reflect political maturity and a commitment to restoring public trust.

The party added that it remains committed to strong oversight and good governance in the management of public institutions.
