JOHANNESBURG - SASSA beneficiaries who have not yet switched to Postbank's black cards have until 31 May to migrate or risk losing access to their grants.
The state entity announced an extension of the deadline on Friday after over a million beneficiaries failed to make the switch by the 20 March deadline.
The process was marred by challenges, as its systems went offline on the last day for the migration.
But Postbank CEO, Nikki Mbengashe, believes the new 60-day period gives beneficiaries enough time to comply.
She briefed the media in Pretoria.
"After these two months, we will not be providing alternatives for people to access their grants. We believe that we've stuck to the commitment to allow for people, there's now an extension to the SASSA gold card. Therefore, after these two months, there will be no alternative. If you don't have your black card, you will not be able to access your grant."
