Limpopo Health MEC condemns abduction and rape of two nurses

JOHANNESBURG - Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego has condemned the abduction and rape of two nurses from the Ga-Chuene Clinic.
Limpopo health department spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana, said the two nurses, who were working a night shift, were taken after a heavily armed man entered the clinic shortly after midnight.
The man allegedly overpowered the clinic's three security guards, tied them up, then robbed the nurses of their cell phones and took them to a nearby bush where he sexually assaulted them.

Shikwambana said the MEC was calling on community members to work with police to find the culprits.
"MEC Mashego has expressed her shock and deep hurt about this deplorable incident that happened to our two nurses at Ga-Chuene Clinic and she has described the incident not only as barbaric but also as a serious setback towards the department's efforts to ensure that clinics operate for 24 hours."
