Mantashe gives Khayelitsha venue for ANC's birthday celebrations the thumbs up

CAPE TOWN - African National Congress (ANC) chairperson Gwede Mantashe has given the party's 113th birthday celebration venue in Khayelitsha the thumbs up.
ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, will deliver his January 8 statement at the Mandela Park Stadium in Khayelitsha on Saturday, but some have questioned the venue’s size.

But Mantashe said he loves the venue because it takes the party to its grassroots supporters in the community.
He was taking part in birthday celebrations in Grabouw in the Overberg region on Wednesday.
"More importantly is our ability to interact with the people directly. I love the venue because it takes the ANC to the people. Not the size alone, visible interaction with the people."
