CAPE TOWN - African National Congress (ANC) deputy president, Paul Mashatile, has accused the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led government in Cape Town of neglecting Khayelitsha and other townships within the metro.
Mashatile spent the day visiting several communities, inviting residents to the ANC's birthday rally scheduled for this Saturday.

Frustrated residents voiced their dissatisfaction with what they described as inadequate service delivery during his visit.
Mashatile responded by claiming that the DA government had directed all resources for service delivery to the suburbs, leaving the townships underserved.
"It's a statement of fact. Where is the DA when people are struggling like they do? We are intervening as national government because we can see that the provincial government is not doing what it should be doing and we going to continue doing so."
